Welcome to CNOY26!!

The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly 2km or 5km fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there. Join us on February 28, 2026 - across the country, close to home!

We are so thankful for your time, giving, and involvement — we truly could not do this without our Captains leading the way! Our Team Captains are the backbone of the Coldest Night of the Year!
Do you remember how much FUN it was last year?  Here is a reminder…

We Want ALL theTeams Back… and more
Team Captains are the heart and soul of CNOY. On Saturday, February 28, 2026, Home Horizon will host its annual Coldest Night of the Year walk—a night of fun, community, and fundraising for the youth who need us most. Together, we FUN-raise to support the critical services that Home Horizon and the Barbara Weider House provide, helping the most vulnerable youth in our community.

If you haven’t registered your team yet, we’ve made it super easy—right here, right now: Team Register

 Why Captain?

You are directly helping the youth experiencing homelessness in our community.
Last year, 63 teams and 1,890 donors helped raise over $207,000 for youth in need.

With over 190 charities participating across Canada, Home Horizon ranked 6th overall—an incredible achievement for our community!

This year there are already over 220+ cities

Stepping up as a Captain means leading your friends, family, and colleagues to FUN-raise while making a tangible and life-changing difference in the lives of youth.
FUN-raising Bonus!
Raise $150 (adult) or $75 (youth), and you’ll receive the 2026 CNOY Toque—with pom-poms! A cozy reward for your hard work and leadership.

This year, we want to exceed last year’s goal.

Lead your team, step out into the cold, and walk with us. Every donation, every step, and every team member helps transform the lives of youth at risk of homelessness—giving them hope, safety, growth, stability, and a chance to reach their full potential.

Your leadership makes this event possible. We can do hard things together, and your team can be part of something truly life-changing.

That’s a wrap on CNOY 2025!

THANK YOU to everyone who stepped out, stepped up, and came together as a community for the 10th annual Coldest Night of the Year!

🎉 Together, we’ve raised over $209,000, placing our small but MIGHTY Collingwood in the Top 10 for fundraising among 207 cities globally—an incredible achievement!

To everyone who participated, donated, and supported this amazing cause—you made a difference! Your generosity and dedication help shine a light on youth homelessness and bring hope to those in need.

💙 On behalf of Home Horizon, our Board, Staff, and—most importantly—the many clients we serve, thank you for your hard work, passion, and support.

📅 Save the date: February 28, 2026!

Walk for a cause.

Collingwood, ON – Home Horizon is hosting its 10th annual Coldest Night of the Year event, a national event that raises funds for youth who are at risk of homelessness in our community. With over 190 charities participating across Canada, Home Horizon has secured a spot in the top 10 ranking 6th overall in total fundraising in 2024 and hopes to keep climbing in the top 5 this year.  On February 22, 2025, we will walk together (or apart) to show our support for those youth who do not have a safe place to call home.

“Our high ranking is thanks to our caring community,” says Joan Schatz, Fundraising Chair for Home Horizon. “South Georgian Bay values our work and puts youth safety and futures first. We still need your support—start a team and walk with us!” Thank you to our long-time Event Lead sponsors Beavertails, The Insurance Store and MJ Byrnes Irish Pub.
