Bowls for Beds
Time: Noon to 2:30 p.m.
Location: Pretty River Academy (11521 Highway #26 West)
WHAT IS IT?- A fundraiser with the finest soups, breads and coffee from local restaurateurs
- An art gallery of pottery bowls painted by local children who will learn about homelessness in their schools during preparation for this event and coached by potters and other artists.
- A fun outing with family and friends
- An opportunity to help Home Horizon to transform lives through housing and counselling.
HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!
1. A $20 ticket buys you a unique hand-painted bowl and the fragrant, fresh offerings of our local restaurateur’s soup at the April 25th event. Please call or
email for tickets.
2. Donate an item or items for our “TOO GOOD TO THROW OUT” table. These are items worth over $10.00 that you would not take with you if you suddenly became homeless. For instance you might want to donate one of the thirty cups and saucers you received at a bridal shower; a piece of jewellery you never wear; a painting of which you are tired, or a Christmas present you have never opened. Wrap it up nicely and drop it off at the Home Horizon office located at 115 Hurontario Street, Suite 203, the Arlington Shoppes. Guests at the lunch will have the opportunity to buy one or more of these items at $10.00 each.
3. Sponsor a “Home Horizon family” to attend the lunch for $40.00. A tax receipt will be issued.
ALL PROCEEDS FOR THIS EVENT GO TO HOME HORIZON’S TRANSITIONAL SUPPORT PROGRAM.
